I switch around my makeup very frequently. Probably every week, in fact. My drawers that I keep all my makeup in are really not organized at all so I bought a nice tray from TK Maxx a few months ago that holds all my favorites. This system works perfectly for me because I can rotate all my makeup whenever I want and not forget about anything that I’m currently loving. I thought I would do a round-up of my top 5 makeup products that I’ve been using in the past few weeks. Hopefully I’ll keep this up and post my top 5’s every month or so!
Without further ado here are my top 5 favorite makeup products right now!
First up is MAC’s Give Me Sun bronzer. This was an impulse buy at the airport. At first I thought it was way too orange on my skin but when I tested it out with a few different brushes I realized that it works way better for me when used with a fluffy brush. It just gives the perfect amount of subtle warmth to my skin. Can’t wait to use this more heavily in the summer with a tan.
When I came back from London my Bahama Mama bronzer from The Balm had arrived in the mail- and I had completely forgotten that I had ordered it (hence why I bought the MAC one at the airport…whoops!). This one I LOVE for contouring! It’s so cool toned and works great on my skin tone. I usually apply it with a Morphe M530 brush to try to get any kind of cheekbone action going.
In terms of foundation, this is basically the ONLY one I’ve been using for the past 2 months- the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation (why such a long name tho?!) It’s a tiny bit light for me so I’m actually considering getting another one that’s darker that I can use on the “outside” of my face, if that makes sense. I apply this with a Beauty Blender only. I tried it with a blending brush and looked disgusting, like I had been bathing in foundation for a few years.
So yes, technically these are two products but I wear them together. So it’s like one “look” hehe. These two have been on my lips non-stop for the past 2 weeks or so. The Revlon balm is in Rendezvous and the lip liner is from Primark, which only cost £1! I don’t apply them very heavily, just outline my lips with the Primark liner lightly and then fill in the rest with the Revlon balm stick. I used to only use the Revlon one but it just kind of got everywhere and looked a bit messy.
Finally, this is the cream blush I’ve been using mostly- an orangey coral color by Chanel called Presage. I feel like my skin isn’t too dry or oily right now so it works. But I know when the summer comes I can’t use this anymore. I apply this with a stippling brush because otherwise it can look too intense.
That’s it for this time! I know I shouldn’t be buying anymore makeup but I really want to try the Becca Backlight Priming Perfector and Under Eye Brightening Corrector…but do I need it?! Probably not, even though it’s likely they might end up in a Cult Beauty shopping cart sometime in the near future.
