About a week and a half ago we flew over to Cannes for a long weekend. I had only been in the south of France once- about five years ago when I was interrailing through Europe and made a quick 2 hour pitstop in Nice. But anyway…
The week before Cannes had been pretty busy & stressful so I knew I didn’t want to plan too much. Chilling by the pool and beach sounded like a good idea, with a few mini activities thrown in. Luckily the couple we were there with were exactly on the same page as us.
I thought I would write up the top 3 things that I would do again while in the south of France. 3 chilled out, relaxing things that are worth doing.
Drink all the wine
Wine + France = True Love. It’s true.
This had been my number 1 priority. Now, I’m no alcoholic but I do enjoy a nice glass of wine on a summers day with good company. So that’s what we did several times a day.
Wine can be super cheap at the supermarkets so we ended up driving to a pretty large one a bit outside of Cannes that stocked aisles and aisles of wine. Hurray!
Seaside walks in Cannes
We actually stayed at an apartment a little outside of Cannes so we drove in to the city (is it actually a city? Town, right?) a few times to walk around. And maybe go to Sephora hehe.
Anyway, I didn’t realize how BEAUTIFUL Cannes is! Like what the hell?! What was also pleasantly surprising was how clean everything was.
I especially loved the marina with all the pretty boats and yachts. Major boat envy.
Look. If you have a car you NEED TO go to Èze. I swear. It’s a small ancient village that sits on top of a mountain with spectacular views looking over the Mediterranean. Right at the top is a little garden that costs 6 euros to get into and it was worth every penny. As soon as the four of us got in there we went completely silent and just walked around like stunned idiots for an hour. I wish these photos did it more justice but it was honestly the most gorgeous views I’ve been in the past few years.
Right, is it now time to book new tickets or what?!
