Summer Bronze Makeup Looks

Finally, finally, finally I’m getting a proper summer tan! Living in Scotland makes it near to impossible to try to get any kind of real tan without self tanners or makeup so the fact that my body actually has tan lines is kind of a miracle. Honestly, it’s no wonder a lot of girls in Scotland look like oompa loompas..they just don’t have a choice. I think I’d also probably be sporting the orange look too if I didn’t travel to a better climate every summer.

What I like about having a tan is that I don’t have to make as much of an effort with my makeup because a tan makes me look automatically better (and healthier…even though that’s questionable hehe). Recently I’ve seen tons of really pretty bronzed makeup looks on Pinterest and Instagram that I’m dying to try.

I thought I would list my favorite products that help me get the most out of my tan for a bronzed summer look.

First off, even though I don’t use self tanners a lot, I feel like once I do have a tan, I can top it off with a self tanner and it doesn’t make it look too fake. My favorites are the self tanners by Clarins. I’ve tried several of their products and LOVE everything! My top fave has to be the Intense Bronze Self Tanning Tint and runners up are the Self Tanning Milk and the Delectable Self Tanning Mousse. Another body product I love for my legs is the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs spray for evening out my skin. The only downside to this product is that you really have to be super careful when you apply it because it can get messy and get light clothes dirty.
For makeup I really enjoy using cream or liquid bronzers in the summer because powder ones often just sit on my skin or slip off in the heat. I bought the Armani Summer Liquid Bronzer recently and I’m crazy about it. I got the darkest shade so it can look a bit cray if I’m not careful but with a Beauty Blender it blends everything out really well, and I don’t need to use too much. Another one I like if I’ve got a subtler tan is the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronze Universal, which is more of a mousse or cream. This one is really easy to use, in fact I could probably apply it in the dark and it would still look ok. If I am wearing a powder bronzer then it’s usually MAC Give Me Sun– perfect summer bronze shade! For my eyes I’ve been taking out my Urban Decay Naked 1 palette and using the bronzey gold shades. Now I’m temped to just cover my whole face in shimmery bronze highlighter shades and call it a day.
