I’ll admit, I’ve already done a fair bit of spamming on Instagram with some of these photos, but I took tons and I have a lot more to share. I need to stop trying to vomit them all out over there so that people don’t get annoyed. Which is why I’ve split our Cannes trip up into 3 posts, one for each day we were there.
A little bit of background- Rob and I traveled to Cannes last June to spend some time with our Swedish friends Eleonor and Erik. Turns out that going away with them was like a match made in heaven. Which basically meant that Eleonor and I got to decide everything and Erik and Rob agreed to drive us around. Kidding, not kidding. Kind of kidding. But in all seriousness, the four of us got on really well together and since we had such a great time we decided to go away again together this year.
Since we kind of did the typical touristy things last year (Monaco, Nice, Cannes, beach, pool etc), we decided to venture out and check out some vineyards. We only ended up driving about 30 mins out of Cannes to a place called Fréjus (or Fray-juice as the GPS lady called it) where we found a superduper lovely vineyard called Clos Des Roses. I’ve only been to one other vineyard in my life, which was in Napa Valley last October (see the post here), and since I loved the experience I was really happy to come check out another vineyard. We spent the afternoon filming with E & E’s drone as well as taking some photos and then had a mini wine tasting before sharing a bottle of wine in their courtyard.
Flowy skirts are perfect for vineyard visits
I bought this beautiful flowy skirt that ties at the front a few days before our trip in the hopes that I would try and look a little bit more put together, and I ended up LOVING it!!! I think one of the reasons why I stayed away from skirts for a long time was because they can be a little too short on me. And likewise, if they’re midi skirts then my legs look stumpy. But this was the perfect length, shorter in the front and longer in the back. I made Eleonor take lots of photos of me twirling around awkwardly while the guys watched from the distance in an unamused fashion hehe. It also worked nicely with my new-ish tie up t-shirt from J-Crew that kind of dressed it down a tiny bit and made it more casual. I’m looking forward to wearing both of the items a lot this summer!
