Ever since I saw the new Stila Magnificent Metals shadows circulating on Instagram and beauty blogs I knew I had to try them. I really wanted to get my hands on the rose gold version in Rose Gold Retro but every time I went hunting for it online it was sold out, meh. Then, last week I was sitting at the airport waiting for my delayed flight to take off when I found it!! Hallelujah. And just as I was buying it my phone rang and I didn’t finish making the purchase. A little while later I went back onto the Stila website thinking it had saved my shade and bought it. When I got the confirmation email I realized I had actually ended up buying Smoldering Satin. But you know what, I’m not even mad. It’s such a gorgeous bronzey taupey color that I know I’ll be able to wear it a lot. I’m pretty sure I’m going to end up getting the rose one though…mostly because my best friend convinced me it would look great with a tan, which is totally true, right?! 😉
Why I like these: not only is there a shimmery sheen base but there’s tons of glitter, which sounds scary but it’s actually really pretty. I wish my camera could have picked up all the glittery flex but you’ll just have to take my word for it.
The only negative thing I noticed was that there was quite a lot of glitter fallout. So I’m planning on doing my eye makeup first before my base and trying it with glitter glue so that all the glitter stays in place and minimizes fallout.
I really haven’t been this excited about a tiny shiny bottle of glittery goo in a long time 😂✨
