I have a tray on my chest of drawers in the bedroom that I keep products in that I am currently using. I usually switch things out every few weeks and dump whatever I’m not using into a makeup drawer. I’ve noticed that there have been a few items that haven’t been rotated in the past few months so I thought I would go over them quickly since they are my faveeeees right now.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light
I recently got a £30 voucher that I wanted to use on something that I wouldn’t normally buy. I decided on one of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders because I’d heard so much about them but never wanted to fork out £40 on something I wasn’t 100% sure of. This powder reminds me a bit of the Makeup Forever HD powder as it has the same silky feeling when you touch it, but it’s the glow that I really love. It’s not glittery, more like a sheen when it’s on the skin. I apply it with a large fluffy brush so that I don’t accidentally put on too much 🌟🌟🌟
tartelette Amazonian clay matte palette
I bought this palette ages ago, about a year and a half ago when I was in the US on holiday. I used to use it all the time but then bought other eyeshadows and kind of forgot about it. I took it out again at the beginning of the summer and haven’t used anything since. Even though it’s large, it’s really slim so it’s great for traveling with. It has all the colors I need. What I mostly like about the shadows is that they’re not powdery. Even though shadows like the Makeup Geek ones are super pigmented, they’re also very powdery so they tend to smudge everywhere. These feel more “compact”, I guess. I might end up getting the tartelette Bloom palette hehe 🙈
Colourpop Lippie Stix in Cami and Primark Matte Long Last Lipstick in Serenity
I’m aware that this isn’t one lipstick but it’s the combo that I really like. The Colourpop Cami lippie is a little too dark for me right now but if I lighten it up with something it’s perfect. I bought the Primark lipstick on a whim when I went in there to get something else. I like the tackiness of the Primark lipstick because it really stays on the lips. The only thing I don’t like is that it legit smells like play-doh but whatevs, I can live with that.
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek highlighter in Butterfly Beach
Oh my gawwwwd this is pretty. The Colourpop Super Shock products are almost liquidy, but in a powder form. Really strange experience. I apply this highlighter with my fingers to blend it out. This color is just so nice, especially now when I still have a tiny bit of a tan.
Maybelline Super Stay 3D Gel Effect Plumping Top Coat
I’ve used the Seche Vite topcoat for ages but bought this when I was traveling and couldn’t find the Seche Vite anywhere. I feel like even though the Seche Vite topcoat dries faster, this Maybelline one does the same job if you just wait a tiny bit longer. Why I also love this is because of the brush- it’s much thicker than the Seche Vite one so it’s easier to apply.
