A couple of months ago I started getting a bit uninspired with the space I was in. Because I live, work and study from home I spend a lot of time in our flat in Edinburgh. Sometimes you need to shake things up in your environment to feel a bit more creative so I started looking at items that could “spruce” things up a bit at home. But because this flat is rented I can’t just go crazy with it either. Two things that I’ve found to make a massive difference are filling up spaces with different sized plants and prints or posters. Both options can be super inexpensive and also work well together. I’ve now got a nice collection of plants in the living room but I wanted to make the bedroom a bit more fun as well.
This is where the prints come in. I find that prints are so easy to work with- they don’t cost a ton of money, you can get them in different sizes and you can buy a collection of them to mix and match.
The ones I’m featuring in this post are from a fantastic brand called Ink and Drop, who kindly gifted me a couple of prints. They have lots of different ones to choose from and come printed on the best quality paper. In total, I got 3 prints in different sizes. The palm tree one is the biggest in 100x70cm- it’s HUGE! I decided to mix and match these with a couple of older prints I had purchased last year from another brand.
I used these to create two “accent” walls- one to cover up a bare wall over our radiator and dresser and another over the old fireplace. Because we have high ceilings both options worked out perfectly and made the room so much more interesting. I really love the way it turned out- such a small change made a massive difference! You can see photos of both below.
