My Favorite Face Masks 😍

It’s 8 PM on a Sunday. I’m lying in the bathtub with a face mask on watching cat videos on Youtube and drinking a glass of wine.
This is literally me every single Sunday. Over the weeks and months I’ve tried out quite a few face masks and now I’ve decided to narrow them down to the ones that I like the most (disclaimer: yes, it seems like a lot of face masks but my skin changes with the seasons so I tend to mix them up every few months etc). I also travel quite a bit so my skin goes a bit cray after flights. Plus, I just really like face masks, okay?

Best overall face mask🌟: Mario Badescu Super Collagen Mask

This is hands down the best mask I have ever tried. I bought it fairly recently and can’t get over how much of a difference it makes to my skin. First of all, it’s super easy to use and not too messy since the “goo” sets quite fast on the skin. It also smells really fresh and doesn’t disturb my nostrils hehe. I tend to use this one at night before I go to sleep because it makes my skin really soft before I apply my moisturizer. I can’t explain what it is about this mask that’s so good but it seems to even out my skintone and make it less “bumpy”, if that makes sense. Can’t wait to try to this when I’m traveling in a few weeks.
I bought mine here from Beauty Bay.

Best for a deep clean: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask

What a complicated name. This stuff is WEIRD. It’s very “active”, like you definitely know that this is on your face because it starts to tingle and pull. I can’t keep this on for too long since it gets too extreme for my liking but my god does it pull all that shit out of my pores. You can use this with water or apple cider vinegar, I tend to go for the latter because if I’m going to be using a face mask I might as well go all the way. I usually use this if my skin looks real bad, like after a heavy weekend of eating and drinking. Afterward I always slap on the more hydrating moisturizer because it can make my skin very tight.
This is also really budget friendly. I bought this from Whole Foods in the US for about $8 or something similar and it will literally last me a lifetime since I only use a scoop at a time.
Here it is on Amazon.

Best for moisturizing: Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask

I think this mask is pretty new. I got to try a sample size of it when a friend came over with a bunch of Origins minis. This was by far my favorite out of all the Origins stuff I have tried so far. I usually don’t tend to go for very moisturizing masks but I got slightly sun burnt at the beginning of the summer and this was a godsend. You can either leave it on for 10 or so minutes and then tissue it off or leave it on overnight. I always leave it on overnight and by the morning it has sunk into the skin really well and leaves absolutely no residue behind. In the winter months I might even start using this as a night cream.

Best multi purpose mask: LUSH Cup O’ Coffee ☕

This was one of my first masks from LUSH that I tried and instantly fell in love with. What I like about this one is that you can use it as either a mask or a face/body scrub. I’ve taken this one on holiday with me several times and it works great as an exfoliator/face mask/body scrub. The only downside is that it can be a bit messy so I tend to put it in a little plastic baggie or Ziploc when I’m traveling.

Best for spots: LUSH Mask of Magnaminty and Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Both of these are my go-tos for when I have spots. I feel like they’re both a bit different in terms of the way they look, smell and feel on the skin but give similar results. These masks really help to prevent my spots from getting any worse, by I guess essentially drying them out. I also really like the minty smell of the LUSH one 🌿

Best for travel: Origins Clear Improvement mask

If I’m travelling and only have limited space this is the one that comes with me. In terms of performance, it’s fine. It’s not as strong as the Aztec one but still does a good job. I just feel like it’s good to travel with because a) it’s milder than many of the others so I know I can use it for different skin issues, b) the size is great at 50 mls and c) it comes in a tube so it’s not as messy as masks that come in a jar.

The FUNNEST mask there is: Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

I won’t lie, I bought this during one of my Sunday night bathtime rituals after watching someone on YouTube use it. I think this is actually a Korean face mask but I’m not 100% sure because the only English that’s on the tub is the actual title on the front. This is the strangest yet coolest face mask I’ve ever used. So you basically apply it like a normal mask, but with a mini spatula that comes with the jar. That’s actually really handy because I feel like the mask would start to bubble if you put it on with your hands. Anyways, after a few minutes the mask starts to bubble hard core, and continues to do so until you have a proper face full of bubbles, like this pic I found on Google. I’ve done this a few times with friends because it’s just such a fun experience but in terms of getting impurities out etc I don’t really know how well it works compared to other masks because I can never seem to let it sit on my skin for too long since it starts tickling me. Regardless of that, I’m still so happy that I bought this and I would definitely buy them for others as gifts 😀
I bought mine here from Amazon.
