Tallinn Old Town

I’m writing this from bed as I sit in the Brussels Airlines phone queue trying to get my flights rebooked. I was meant to already be in Tallinn by now, waking up in my tiny flat and feeling happy to be at home for the holidays (and some work but whatevs). BUT ALAS I AM STILL IN EDINBURGH. Hahahah I’m not even super mad about it, weirdly because I had a feeling that something was going to go wrong. I think having the news in the background about all the snow in different parts of the UK and Europe kind of warned me I might get caught up in it. Basically, my flights were via Brussels and all flights going in and out of Brussels with Brussels Airlines yesterday were cancelled because of “snow”. The most annoying thing was having to queue up with around 300 other people to try and get the tickets re-booked and after five hours of standing there I gave up. I had literally moved about 4 meters in all that time. Luckily I exchanged numbers with a guy in the queue (heeeeej Alex if you’re reading this 👋👋) who called me when I was on the tram and told me I can try and do all of this over the phone instead of wasting time in a queue. For me this isn’t a massive issue, I mean shit happens and at least at the end of the day I can just go home and sleep in my own bed. But I felt bad for the families with small children and the old people that don’t live here. What a nightmare 😣 I wonder how long they stood there for. Haha, at one point BBC News was there interviewing people too. I think the main problem (at least at Edinburgh Airport) was that ZERO info was given to anyone. All we were told was to stand in the queue. Crazy.

I’m trying to look at this as a tiny blessing because I was super sick last week with the flu that eventually turned into sinusitis. Which means I’ve been dealing with blocked ears, pain in my face and teeth and am on antibiotics. I was pretty nervous about flying yesterday anyways and this might give me some extra time to get over the sinus infection.

I guess for now I’ll just have to try and enjoy the hours/days I’ve got in Edinburgh and look at some photos of Tallinn to get myself hyped up for going back soon. Looking forward to getting out and about to take some beautiful photos in the Old Town, my favourite. Look at all those colouuuuurs 💛 These were taken back in September and I never published them on the blog. Hope you like them!

About Me - a lifestyle + travel blog by KK Land

Welcome to my blog! This space started due to a combination of things – my cosmopolitan lifestyle and my love of taking photos. My biggest love is to travel and I don’t stay put in one place for more than a few weeks.

Here you can find a mix of different posts, such as my days spent in Edinburgh, with a coffee cup in hand. Or my travel adventures in different countries. Or some style posts- I’m a casual gal but enjoy a good statement piece.
