Sometime in the early summer I decided it was time that Rob and I see more of Scotland. I was dying to see Glencoe so thought it would be the perfect place to kickstart these new Scottish adventures I was planning on going on in the foreseeable future. Since I left it all quite late we ended up staying in Oban instead of Glenoe but were able to tick off a few places in one weekend: Fort William, Glenfinnan, Oban and Glencoe and parts of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs. Well, what basically happened after that was when we got home on the Sunday evening I ran straight to my computer and instead of a booking a weekend away somewhere other than where we had literally just been, I went ahead and booked a nights stay in….Glencoe. It was honestly the most beautiful place I had ever seen. I was missing it even when I was there, if it makes sense.
We ended up staying in two really cool places that weekend- a little pod on the river right near Glencoe and a “bothy” right by Loch Lochy (I mean, could they have been any more lazy with the name of that loch?!). They were both so cool and I’ll be doing a separate post on each soon- in fact, I’ll be going back to the pod sometime this winter so stay tuned for a detailed post on HOW AWESOME IT IS. My heart rate just skyrocketed at the thought of the pod haha.
In a nutshell, this is what we got up to during our weekend: staring out the car window, sitting in a hottub, loving life in a pod, feeling small in the mountains, looking out for Highland coos, taking photos, taking photos, taking photos, sitting by the fire in our bothy, taking photos and taking photos. I don’t really have much else to say about Glencoe and our weekend because it almost doesn’t need words so this post will consist mostly of the photos I took. Hope you enjoy!
