I’ve lived here long enough to know which spots I like the best in Edinburgh for getting a niiiiiice photo. I’ve put together 10 of my top spots in this post- these are all a bit obvious but I still think they’re the best out there.
I’m also putting together a list of IG spots that aren’t super obvious (and quite specific places, like certain walls for backdrops), so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Here we goooo…
Don’t miss out on the Botanic Gardens– if you need a bit of greenery in your life (or shots), this is the place.
Need a good picture of the castle? Go to the Vennel – it’s right by the Grassmarket by Brown’s Place. I’ve been a few times and there’s almost always no people there so you can take as many photos as you like without standing in someones way.
Hyde & Son
The most photogenic coffee shop out there. And it’s a plus that they make delicious coffee 😉
The shore in Leith is always a good spot for an Insta photo.
This ones super obvious and just screams Edinburgh. But how can you not take a photo of this beautiful street? (esp if you’re a HP fan) ✨
Victoria Street or Diagon Alley?🤔🔮 I love how Edinburgh is basically like living in a Harry Potter book ✨ • • • • • As Edinburgh’s #traveltop6 ambassador for @choicehotelsglobal I love putting together these photos of the city I live in ❤️ If you like them too don’t forget to follow their account for more travel inspiration across Europe @choicehotelsglobal! ✈️ I’ve found some awesome tips and accounts through them (looking at you @kaptain.kenny 😊) • • • • #traveltop6 #choicehotels #mytravelchoice #ad
Honestly, everything in Dean Village is instagrammable. Every street, building and car (obviously).
Arthur’s Seat and/or Salisbury Crags
This is one of my fave spots eveeeer, especially in the summer. When the sun is out you can get amazing photos from up here.
Anywhere in the Old Town is good for the camera but my personal favourites are the closes (this one below was taken in Advocate’s Close).
I’m in a GREAT mood today, probably because I’m finally shaking off this cold. Got some fun things to look forward to today- aside from catching up on some work I’m visiting @_studioemma and her studio, then roping in the husband to take some photos of various closes by the Royal Mile for a project and finally ending the evening off with going to the Xmas market with @danielbk. Yay! Follow along on my stories later. But now…back to bizniz 📝
Oh, how I love this hill. I love the views and I also love sitting on the monument. The only downside is that if it’s even a tiny bit windy, you can really feel it up there!
This is such an obvious one, but I really do love Circus Lane. The quaintest and prettiest street in Edinburgh, for sure ❤️
